Latvian producer Elita Mīlgrāve has posted a video on social media showing her dancing with Polish singer Michał Szpak, who represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest ten years ago. The dance was recorded while the 35-year-old musician was visiting Latvia to take part in a festival organised by Laima Vaikule. In the caption, Mīlgrāve thanked Szpak for the birthday dance, as she celebrated her 64th birthday in late July.

In the footage, the pair appear fully engaged in the energetic routine. Szpak leads his partner with visible enthusiasm, while Mīlgrāve follows along with close dance elements and swift turns. The producer has previously said she enjoys bachata, a dance style known for its intimate contact, hip movements and temperament.

Online reactions to the video have been sharply divided. Several commenters praised Mīlgrāve’s boldness and energy, saying she keeps up with her partner wonderfully and that life should be enjoyed. Others, however, argued that such a sensual dance was not appropriate for public display, suggesting it would be better suited to a private party. Some critical remarks also referenced Mīlgrāve’s age, but many defended the producer, asking why people feel the need to judge others for expressing joy.

Few, if any, seemed indifferent to the clip. The video has become one of the most talked-about posts in Mīlgrāve’s social media feed.
