Extreme heat in Paris: Eiffel Tower, Louvre cut hours
Due to a heatwave, Paris's most famous landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and Louvre, will operate on reduced hours for several days.

Eiffel Tower and Louvre close early due to heat
Paris's most iconic monuments and museums are switching to reduced hours for several days because of extreme temperatures. According to Le Figaro, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda, on July 11 the administration of the Eiffel Tower announced that due to extremely hot weather in the French capital, the site will close to visitors from 4:00 PM, whereas it usually welcomes tourists until after midnight. This schedule will also apply on Sunday.
Similar measures have been introduced at the world-famous Louvre Museum and the Musée d'Orsay. The Louvre will close its doors at 4:00 PM in the coming days, including Monday, while the Musée d'Orsay will close at 5:00 PM until Wednesday.
Heatwave impact
France has entered the peak period of a new heatwave this weekend. On Sunday, some areas are expected to see temperatures exceeding 40–42°C during the hottest hours. The government has activated an emergency plan, and President Emmanuel Macron has called for extra caution with fire due to increased fire risk.
Earlier, it was announced that the previous heatwave in late June may have been linked to over 2,000 "excess" deaths in France; this figure may rise once full data are received.
