Access to Latvia's shared website platform (TVP), which supports websites of state institutions and municipalities, has been temporarily suspended. The reason is two critical vulnerabilities in PHP software. PHP is a widely used programming language on which many websites are built.

The suspension was reported to the news site TVNET by Laura Krastiņa, press secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers.

A software vulnerability is a security weakness that can be exploited in a cyberattack. When critical vulnerabilities are found, access to a system may be restricted for a time to reduce the risk.

The source gives no further details, such as when the platform's operation will be restored, which specific websites are affected, or whether the weaknesses have already been exploited in attacks. This information has not yet been made public.
