Vegetable processor “Kronis” plans €550,000 warehouse in Bauska
Vegetable and fruit processing company “Kronis” has launched a procurement for a new produce warehouse in Bauska worth €550,000, backed by EU rural development funding. Construction should finish by August 2027.

Vegetable and fruit processing company SIA “Kronis” intends to build a new warehouse for vegetable products on Mežotnes Street 17 in Bauska, according to information published by the Procurement Monitoring Bureau (IUB) on the company's tender.
According to the technical specification of the procurement, the construction concept involves erecting an entirely new building. The chosen contractor will be required to carry out the works without disrupting ongoing business operations at the site and the surrounding area.
Deadlines and contract value
IUB data shows the estimated contract value at €550,000. Bids for the tender can be submitted until October 26, 2026. Construction is scheduled to begin no later than December 15, 2026, and must be completed no later than August 16, 2027, counted from the date the construction site handover act is signed.
The project is being carried out under the “Investments in Tangible Assets” measure of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023-2027.

The LETA news agency previously reported that “Kronis” posted a turnover of €6.451 million in 2025, up 20.1% from the previous year, while the company's profit grew by 70.2% to €343,548.
SIA “Kronis” was established in 1993 and has a share capital of €678,198. The company is owned by Jānis Āboliņš (52.21%), Aivars Svarenieks (40.04%), Iveta Svareniece-Āboliņa (7.59%), Silvija Elksne (0.13%) and Benita Svareniece (0.04%).
