Sunny spells expected in Latvia on Thursday, air warming up to 23°C

On Thursday, August 13, Latvia will experience variable cloud cover, with most of the country staying dry for the day. Forecasters note that isolated brief showers cannot be ruled out in some areas, with the cloudiest conditions expected in Kurzeme.

Winds will blow slowly to moderately from the west. Overnight temperatures will drop to +7..+11°C, staying warmer along the coast at up to +16°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to +19..+23°C.

In Riga on Thursday, cloud cover will vary but no precipitation is expected, with a slow to moderate northwesterly wind. Nighttime temperatures in the capital will range from +11°C in the south to +16°C in the north, while afternoon temperatures will climb to +21..+22°C.

Warmer weather expected this weekend

Forecasters predict that air temperatures in Latvia will continue rising over the weekend, before dropping again next week. In the coming days, cloud cover will be fairly extensive, but precipitation will be limited to isolated brief showers.

Winds will mainly blow from the west or southwest. While temperatures will not exceed +23°C on Thursday, they are expected to climb to +20..+26°C on Friday, and could approach +30°C in some areas over the weekend.

Nights will also grow warmer, with minimum temperatures rising from +7..+11°C on Thursday to +14..+18°C on Sunday, slightly warmer still in some coastal areas.

Next week, temperatures are expected to stay mostly within +18..+23°C, with rain likely on several days.
