Barcelona remain in talks with Manchester City over signing Spain midfielder Rodri, 30, and have raised their offer to £51.4m.

Defender moves

Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero, 28, would like to join Arsenal, but Tottenham have no intention of letting him move to their north London rivals. Romero is also seen as an option for Barcelona, who are preparing to let Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo, 27, join Liverpool on loan.

Nottingham Forest are set to sign Ivory Coast centre-back Ousmane Diomande, 22, from Sporting for £34m.

Other deals

Spain forward Ferran Torres, 26, has told Barcelona he wants to join Paris St-Germain after agreeing personal terms with the European champions.

Everton and Crystal Palace have discussed a possible swap involving Dwight McNeil, 26, and Brennan Johnson, 25.

Tottenham have held advanced talks with Manchester City over signing Brazil winger Savinho, 22, in a deal reportedly worth around £60m.

Aston Villa are close to finalising a deal for Italian left-back Matteo Ruggeri, 24, from Atletico Madrid.

Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, 22, could move to Leeds if they top Fulham's current £30m bid.

Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug has agreed terms with Venezia, though the move is being held up by West Ham's asking price. West Ham have meanwhile reached an agreement in principle to sign Israel winger Manor Solomon, 27, from Tottenham.

Fenerbahce are close to finalising a deal for Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku, 33, from Napoli, with Chelsea due a sell-on fee from the transfer.
