Latvian timber trading company ACA Timber has stated it disagrees with a recent decision by the Competition Council concerning its cooperation with state-owned forestry enterprise Latvijas valsts meži (LVM).

According to company representatives, the Council's ruling puts at risk the continued fulfillment of two long-term logging contracts signed between ACA Timber and LVM. The company describes the decision as unfounded.

ACA Timber representatives have publicly voiced objections to the Competition Council's assessment of these contracts. Further details on the reasoning behind the ruling and the next steps in the process have not yet been disclosed.
