Zidane secures second win as France coach after victory over Belgium

France's national football team claimed its second consecutive win since Zinédine Zidane took over as head coach, defeating Belgium 1-0 away in a Nations League match. The only goal came in the 88th minute from Michael Olise, who scored with a low, ground-level shot, according to DAZN.

Speaking to TF1 after the match, Zidane heaped praise on the winger, calling him a "pure talent" and a player who "feels football," knowing when to push forward and when to hold back. The coach said he was pleased to be working alongside him.

A tough match, a deserved win

Zidane described the match as difficult, acknowledging that Belgium caused France problems. Still, he said his team showed resilience and ultimately deserved to score. Before the winning goal, France had hit the woodwork several times without converting. Zidane felt his side had dominated the match overall and that the win was a logical outcome.

Debut for Da Cunha

The match also marked the first national-team appearance for midfielder Lucas Da Cunha. Zidane praised the newcomer's performance, noting that debuting in an unfamiliar group is never easy, yet Da Cunha played naturally, much as he does for his club.

Nine changes in three days

Between this match and the previous one — a 1-0 win over Turkey — Zidane made nine changes to the lineup. He explained the rotation as a deliberate choice to involve the whole squad, stressing that every player should feel responsible and ready to contribute.
