Zelenskyy: Ukraine needs maritime defense line with interceptor drones
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needs to establish a maritime defense line using interceptor drones to protect Odesa and other areas.

On July 4, in Odesa, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed graduates and cadets of the Naval Institute, emphasizing the need to create a maritime defense line based on interceptor drones. He noted that this technology is crucial for protecting Odesa's airspace and that drones can be launched from various platforms, including sea drones.
Due to the full-scale war, Ukraine's focus is not only on large ships; the country has already developed a fleet of sea drones that is unique worldwide. Zelenskyy highlighted that Ukrainian forces can deploy 100 to 200 sea drones in a single operation and can even shoot down helicopters with them.
However, to fully unlock this potential, the president stressed that the fleet needs modern aviation, ships, mine-countermeasure brigades, and other technological drones. Together, these elements would form a robust defense line at sea and in the air.
