Zelensky congratulates the US on its 250th Independence Day
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published a congratulatory message to the United States on its 250th independence anniversary, thanking for support and highlighting shared values.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted a congratulatory message on social media for the United States' 250th Independence Day, celebrated on July 4. He noted that throughout its long history, the United States has become an example for other nations and helped humanity endure and become freer, especially during the events of the 20th century.
Zelensky emphasized that in the 21st century, America's influence and significance are no less, and this is particularly visible in Ukraine, which is fighting for its independence, freedom, and the right to happiness. He thanked the US for its support, stating that American weapons – from Javelins, which President Trump decided to provide to Ukraine, to Patriot systems that most reliably protect Ukrainian lives – demonstrate the strength of the American spirit, determination, and technology.
The President added that when Ukraine asks for Patriots, it believes that the values that worked 250 years ago will work today. He wished peace and quoted the US Declaration of Independence, saying that all men are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights – life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Zelensky thanked America and expressed confidence that together they will achieve peace.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump in his address for the 250th anniversary spoke about the revival of the 'communist threat,' which he said endangers the country's prosperity. Additionally, the Independence Day parade in Washington on July 4 was canceled due to extreme heat, with daytime temperatures expected to reach 43.3-46.1°C.
