Volkswagen begins presales of new electric SUV ID. Aura T6 in China
FAW-Volkswagen has launched presales in China for the new electric mid-size crossover ID. Aura T6, equipped with modern technology and autonomous driving assistance systems.
The Chinese-German joint venture FAW-Volkswagen has begun taking presale orders for a new all-electric crossover, the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6, aimed at the Chinese market. The vehicle is built on the CEA electronic architecture and features the Carizon smart driving assistance system.
Dimensions and design
The car measures 4,811 mm in length with a 2,836 mm wheelbase, providing a spacious cabin. Its exterior features a continuous LED light strip and an illuminated Volkswagen logo, while the front houses a 90-litre storage compartment. The interior is available in three colour schemes.
Technology and features
The digital cockpit includes a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 25.8-inch augmented reality head-up display. These systems run on a 4-nanometre processor with an AI module. The car supports remote control, over-the-air software updates, wireless connectivity with phone platforms, and more than 23 pre-installed apps.
Comfort features include wireless phone charging, an 18-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system and a panoramic sunroof. Notably, the front passenger seat offers electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, a massage function and a backrest that reclines up to 170 degrees, forming a flat surface with the rear seat.
Powertrain and autonomous driving
The model is powered by a 170 kW (228 hp) electric motor paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery. Driving assistance functions rely on a LiDAR sensor and a Horizon Robotics chip delivering 420 TOPS of computing power, enabling use of the systems on both highways and city streets.
