Man charged with murdering woman found dead in Darlington
A 44-year-old man has been charged with murdering a woman discovered dead in Darlington, England, while a second man arrested in connection with the case has been released on bail.
Police in Darlington have charged 44-year-old Andrew Bell with the murder of 44-year-old Leanne Park, who was found dead on Wednesday evening.
Durham Police said Park was pronounced dead at approximately 21:15 BST at an address in the Parkgate area of the town. Her family described her in a statement as "the best mam, nana, daughter and friend we could wish for."
Bell is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court.
Second man released on bail
A 27-year-old man who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the case has since been released on bail, police confirmed.
A police spokesperson said forensic investigators remain at the scene and that the police cordon around the area is expected to stay in place for some time longer.
Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the killing to come forward and contact detectives.
