Authorities investigate source of oil pollution on Ventspils beach

Oil product pollution has been discovered along the coast of Ventspils, stretching across dozens of kilometers of shoreline. Both the sand and the coastline itself have been affected by the contamination.

Specialists are currently working to identify the source of the pollution. Meanwhile, city services have already begun cleanup operations on the beach to address the consequences of the oil contamination.

Until the situation is fully clarified and resolved, residents and visitors to the city are being urged to avoid walking along the seashore. The matter was reported on LSM's program "Let's Discuss This Evening" ("Обсудим вечером").
