Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba announced that after negotiations with Poland, an agreement was reached to maintain bus traffic through the "Shehyni – Medyka" border crossing during the summer. Initially, it was planned that from June 15, repair works at this checkpoint would cause the suspension of bus crossings from Ukraine to Poland until November 2027. However, following talks between Ukraine’s Ministry of Communities and Territories Development and Poland’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the assistance of the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, it was agreed that bus movement would not be stopped even during the repairs. Kuleba thanked his Polish counterparts and the embassy for constructive dialogue and swift resolution. The "Shehyni – Medyka" checkpoint is one of the busiest on the Polish border, and this agreement will help maintain stable transport links between Ukraine and Poland for passengers and international carriers. It may be recalled that since April 10, the new Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully operational at all EU external border checkpoints.
