Online media are again quoting predictions attributed to the Bulgarian seer Baba Vanga. According to the news channel Wionews, one of them says a large cosmic object linked to contact with extraterrestrials could visit Earth in November 2026. So far there are no signs that such an event is approaching.
What is attributed to Vanga for 2026
The list of predictions tied to this year includes the outbreak of a new world war and major natural disasters, among them floods and earthquakes. She is also credited with foreseeing the rapid development of artificial intelligence and possible contact between humanity and an extraterrestrial civilization.
Doubts about the sources
During her lifetime Vanga left no extensive, verifiable written archive of predictions. As a result, many claims quoted today rest on later publications, hearsay or other people's interpretations.
After her death she was credited with predicting the September 11 terrorist attacks, the Chernobyl disaster, the death of Princess Diana, the 2004 tsunami and Brexit. As The Guardian notes, in these cases too it is often impossible to find an original source in which Vanga said such words before the event, because many predictions attributed to her are not documented.
Researchers and people who have studied her legacy warn that new predictions keep being added to her name online, including ones about wars, economic crises and other disasters.
