Over 100 Ukrainian companies train AI on combat data via Brave1 Dataroom, says defence ministry
The Brave1 Dataroom platform provides a secure environment for developers to train AI models using real-world combat data, with a focus on automatic detection and interception of Russian drones.

More than 100 Ukrainian companies have gained access to the Brave1 Dataroom platform and are using it to train artificial intelligence models based on real combat data, according to Ukraine's Defence Ministry.
The Brave1 Dataroom is a secure environment where developers are given access to structured datasets for the validation, training and fine-tuning of AI systems for military use. This includes visual and thermal datasets of aerial assets collected in real-world conditions.
The ministry said that one of the key focus areas is the development of technologies for the automatic detection and interception of Russian drones. Companies are working with data on various types of aerial assets, collected under different weather conditions, at different times of day and using various sensors. This enables AI models to be trained on scenarios that are as close as possible to modern combat conditions.
Particular attention is being paid to countering attack drones such as Shahed-type UAVs and other unmanned aerial systems. The use of real-world data makes it possible to significantly improve the accuracy of target recognition algorithms, reduce response times and enhance the effectiveness of autonomous interceptor drones.
The Brave1 Dataroom was launched in January 2026 by Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation. The initiative aims to accelerate the development of autonomous systems capable of detecting and intercepting enemy targets without human intervention.
