Concerns about oaks in construction area

Residents in Riga have voiced concerns regarding several oak trees located on A. Deglava Street, which is currently a construction zone. People are worried that earthworks may have damaged the trees' root systems, potentially hindering their growth and development.

Municipal representative provides clarification

Ieva Grisle, a representative of the Riga City Council, addressed the issue on the LTV program "4.studija." She explained that a new layer of fertile black soil has been added under the oaks. According to Grisle, this measure ensures that the trees receive sufficient nutrients and should prevent any negative impact from the construction work.

Grisle emphasized that the situation is under control and that there is no cause for alarm. The municipality will continue to monitor the trees' condition.

Conclusion

As of now, there are no reports of damage to the oaks. While residents remain attentive, official statements indicate that the trees are in satisfactory condition.
