Uzhhorod: Police Special Forces Free Hostages After Armed Man Barricades Himself with Wife and Child
In Uzhhorod, a man armed with a pistol took his wife and 5-year-old child hostage, but KORD special police freed them and arrested the suspect.

On Thursday, June 11, in Uzhhorod, an armed man barricaded himself in a house with his wife and child, threatening his wife with a pistol. According to the National Police press service, the incident was reported around 4:40 PM, with gunshots heard.
When police arrived, the man had barricaded himself inside the house along with his wife and their 5-year-old child. He refused to communicate with law enforcement.
The KORD (Operational and Sudden Action Corps) special police unit conducted an operation, successfully freeing the hostages and detaining the suspect. Police confirmed that the woman and child were safely escorted out of the building and are no longer in danger.
Initial investigative actions are ongoing.
