In Uzhhorod, police free hostages and arrest man who took wife and child

On Thursday, June 11, at approximately 4:40 p.m., police in Uzhhorod received a report about a man threatening his wife with a pistol. The caller heard sounds of gunshots. When police arrived, the man had barricaded himself inside a house with his wife and 5-year-old child, refusing to communicate. During a special operation, officers from the KORD police special unit freed the hostages and apprehended the suspect. According to police, the woman and child are safe and their lives are not in danger. An investigation is ongoing.
