Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, appointed by Viktor Orbán, has vowed to resist the attempt by new Prime Minister Péter Magyar to remove him. Magyar claims Sulyok turned a blind eye to abuses under Orbán.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is using trolls to weaken Merz and boost the Russia-friendly far right. Merz's attempts to revive his flagging popularity are backfiring.
