Ukraine strikes deep into Russia: Flamingo missiles and drone attacks hit military plant, refineries
Ukraine carried out long-range strikes against targets inside Russia, including a military factory and oil refineries, while Russia faces arrests over car bombings and port attacks continue.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Wednesday that Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo long-range missiles hit a military factory in Cheboksary, in the Chuvashiya region, over 900 km from the frontline. The VNIIR-Progress plant produces drone antennas, confirmed by regional head Oleg Nikolayev. Russian media showed a large fire at the Samara refinery. According to Reuters, Rosneft's Kuibyshev refinery in Samara halted oil processing on June 10 after a drone attack. It is part of the Samara refining hub, which also includes Novokuibyshevsk and Syzran plants; Syzran has been offline since May 21, and Novokuibyshevsk has been running at reduced capacity since April 18. Zelenskyy added that Ukraine's SBU security service targeted two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, about 700 km from the front. Russian authorities reported a fire near the Afipsky refinery in southern Krasnodar and damage to a gas pipeline. Zelenskyy declared June 11 as the inaugural "Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces," noting that Ukraine created the world's first such military branch. Russian investigators said they arrested at least two suspects after two car bombings in Moscow. One explosion killed Colonel Damir Davydov, head of the Russian military's artillery and missile ammunition supply directorate. Another bomb was found before detonation, and two teenagers were charged. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck the Russian-occupied port of Mariupol, causing a blackout, and hit the Chonhar bridge twice, suspending traffic. Ukraine's military also struck the "shadow fleet" tanker West Horizon in the Black Sea. The European Union expanded the mandate of Operation IRINI to allow inspection of ships suspected of sanctions evasion. Russia condemned the move. Ukraine's largest farmers' union warned that intensified Russian attacks on Odesa ports threaten a significant reduction in agricultural exports, as over 90% of shipments pass through these ports. Ukrainian police accused Russia of recruiting teenage girls to poison soldiers; a 17-year-old was detained in Zhytomyr on suspicion of poisoning a military personnel with methadone.
