Ukraine's Air Force: Hundreds of Missiles and Tens of Thousands of Drones Downed in September
Ukraine's Air Force has reported large numbers of air targets destroyed in September 2026. The figures in the source differ, so the exact total is unclear.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has announced the results of Ukrainian defenders' efforts to repel Russian air attacks in September 2026. The report relates to the war in Ukraine and describes the scale of air defence work over a single month.
According to the Air Force, more than 48,000 unmanned aerial vehicles and hundreds of missiles of various types were destroyed in September.
Discrepancy in the figures
The headline of the published report says Ukrainian defenders destroyed more than 4,700 air targets in September, while the body text refers to more than 48,000 drones and hundreds of missiles. These numbers do not match, and the source does not explain the difference.
The source does not say which missile types were involved, how the targets were distributed across the days of the month, or what damage occurred on the ground.
