Warehouses of Russia's Wildberries burn after Ukrainian drone strikes, Estonians still order from the platform

Russia's largest online retailer, Wildberries, has been experiencing repeated fires at its warehouses, caused by Ukrainian drone strikes that have occurred almost daily. Kyiv says the company is involved in Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, and the attacks are meant to disrupt that support.

The marketplace is widely known for its broad assortment of consumer goods, including cosmetics, electronics and children's products. However, it also lists body armor, drones and drone components for sale. This means that everyday purchases sit alongside items that could be used for military purposes. That mix of goods is one of the reasons Ukraine considers the company part of Russia's military supply chain.

Despite the ongoing attacks and international context, shoppers in Estonia are still using Wildberries. According to Rus.Postimees, they order products through intermediaries, which helps bypass direct delivery restrictions that have appeared due to logistics or the geopolitical situation. This allows Estonian customers to keep buying both everyday items and more specialized products, including those connected to security and military equipment.

The situation shows that Russian e-commerce platforms can still reach consumers in European Union countries, even as Ukrainian strikes continue to hit Wildberries' infrastructure. The attacks have repeatedly sparked fires and disrupted the company's operations.
