Ukrainian Hornet drone strikes Russian radar 120 km behind the front line

Ukraine's armed forces have struck a Russian radar installation located 120 kilometers behind the front line, using a drone known as the Hornet. According to Euromaidan Press, the equipment hit was likely part of a Nebo-M radar complex, a system estimated to be worth around $100 million.

Part of a wider campaign

A Ukrainian brigade officer explained that the strike fits into a broader effort aimed at disrupting Russian logistics and depriving Russian forces of radar and electronic warfare capabilities. The comment suggests Ukrainian forces are deliberately targeting systems that help Russia track aerial threats and interfere with Ukrainian drones and other unmanned systems near and behind the front.

The fact that the target was located as far as 120 kilometers from the battle line demonstrates that Ukrainian drones are capable of reaching relatively distant targets in Russian-controlled or Russian territory, putting costly and strategically important military infrastructure at risk.
