Ukraine's Defence Intelligence (DIU) has reported that on 10-11 August, members of the Cyber Corps community carried out an attack on the digital infrastructure of Russian company Wildberries, the country's largest online retailer.

Service disruptions

According to the DIU, the attack disrupted the company's main remote customer service channel, partially destabilised its payment systems, and increased strain on its contact centres.

The agency said it received mass complaints from Wildberries users, including reports of being unable to complete financial payments.

Purpose of the attack

DIU stated that the cyberattack was meant to reinforce the impact of earlier strikes carried out by Ukraine's defence forces against Wildberries facilities located in Russia.
