The commander of Ukraine's unmanned systems forces has stated that Ukraine will be able to fully isolate the Crimean peninsula in the near future. In an interview, he noted that due to regular drone attacks, the Russian army has been forced to reduce supplies via the route to Crimea by more than two-thirds over the past month. The commander predicted that after another month, Ukraine will gain full control of this route.

According to him, the Ukrainian army will create conditions in which it will be extremely difficult for any Russian soldier or defense industry worker to remain in Crimea or the occupied territories. He also revealed that the number of medium-range drone combat flights by Ukrainian forces has increased 28 times over the past year, while the number of long-range attacks on Russian territory has increased nearly fourfold in the same period.

In the first five months of 2026, drones destroyed more than 50,900 Russian soldiers and hit more than 176,500 targets. The systematic attacks on Russian military and oil facilities, as well as weapons manufacturing plants, aim to inflict losses sufficient to threaten Moscow's ability and willingness to continue the war.

The commander emphasized that Ukraine, contrary to Russian accusations, has not carried out and will not carry out direct attacks on peaceful civilians or civilian targets.
