Ukraine signs contract with Rheinmetall for 155mm artillery shells
Ukraine has signed a contract with Germany's Rheinmetall to supply tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells and propelling charges, worth tens of millions of euros, with deliveries expected by the first quarter of 2027.

Ukraine has inked a contract with German defense company Rheinmetall for the supply of 155mm artillery ammunition. Under the agreement, tens of thousands of shells and propelling charges will be delivered.
The contract value, to be reflected in the company's financial reports for the second quarter of 2026, amounts to several tens of millions of euros. Production has already started, and deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2027.
The ammunition is being manufactured at Rheinmetall Expal Munitions' facility in Spain. The ER02A1 B/B shells and M203 propelling charges are already in service with various NATO countries. They are compatible with a wide range of 155mm artillery systems and provide long range and high effectiveness.
In early June, it was announced that Rheinmetall would supply Romania with military equipment worth €5.7 billion to strengthen NATO's eastern flank. Additionally, Rheinmetall has begun serial production of naval drones and is launching production of kamikaze drones.
