Ukrainian Official: 90% of Russian Missile and Drone Types Contain Japanese Components
Ukraine's sanctions chief stated that Japanese-made parts are found in nine out of ten types of Russian missiles and drones, urging Japan to tighten export controls.

Ukraine's sanctions chief has revealed that Japanese-made components are present in 90% of Russian missile and drone types. The official called on Japan to close the gap in export controls to prevent these parts from being used in weapons targeting Ukraine. This finding highlights the challenges of enforcing sanctions against Russia, as critical components continue to flow through global supply chains. Japan has previously implemented sanctions, but the high percentage of Japanese parts suggests loopholes remain. Ukraine is pressing for further action to stem the use of its technology in Russian arms.
