27 Dead in Bangkok Bar Fire, Several Injured

In the early hours of Monday, a devastating fire broke out in a bar in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, claiming the lives of 27 people and leaving several injured, who were rushed to hospitals. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze.

Videos shared on social media show huge flames and thick black smoke, as well as people fleeing the scene. Photos taken after the fire was put out reveal charred tables, chairs, and the destroyed interior of the bar.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed to journalists at the scene that 27 people had died and several were injured, with many hospitalized. The prime minister stated that the cause of the fire is not yet known and that an investigation is ongoing.
