In early June, residents watched with horror as a stork mother named Uma ate one of her chicks in a live stream from Talsi region. Now, similar alarming events have been recorded in Tukums region, at a nest maintained by AS "Sadales tīkls" on a power line pole.

According to the company, on the morning of June 11, a strange stork arrived at the nest and attacked the chicks that were left unattended by their parents. Observers believe the intruder was the previous nest owner, known as Mama. Fortunately, the chicks were not injured and are gradually recovering.

Currently, both chicks have started eating again, and their parents, Uma and Jumis, are caring for them diligently. "Let's keep our fingers crossed that the parents continue to look after their young and help them fully recover from the ordeal," said a representative from "Sadales tīkls".

The nest was replaced this spring due to instability. The new nest has been accepted, and the birds are actively improving it. Despite the recent incident, there is hope that the stork family will successfully raise their chicks.
