Tuchel laments 'big mistakes' after Man City-linked errors at Wembley

Three of those four players were involved in significant mistakes during the game. In the first half, Guehi was dispossessed near the edge of his own penalty area, allowing Spain's Lamine Yamal to surge forward and score the opening goal.

Harry Kane slipped as he took the kick and struck the crossbar, missing the chance to convert. Later, a pass from O'Reilly was intercepted deep in England's own half, leading to Alex Baena's equaliser that made it 2-2.

City's ongoing case

The day before the match, sources told BBC Sport that Manchester City had been found guilty of breaching the majority of 115 financial charges brought against them. The four-year investigation centred on allegations that, between 2009 and 2018, the club inflated sponsorship revenue and made undisclosed payments to get around financial regulations.

Sanctions have not yet been announced, but potential consequences range from a points deduction to expulsion from the Premier League or a substantial fine. BBC Sport understands that other Premier League clubs are already seeking legal advice regarding possible compensation.

England captain Harry Kane downplayed any connection between the charges and the players' errors, telling ITV Sport that club football issues are typically set aside during international duty, and this week was no different.
