Trevor Noah to host Google's Pixel 11 launch event

Google's next live Made by Google hardware event will take place on August 12th. A new video released by the company reveals that comedian Trevor Noah will host the show.

The video suggests the event will also feature a number of other celebrities and influencers. These include Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, who attended the 2025 event, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill and Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo, both of whom have appeared in Pixel ads, as well as NBA star and Google Performance Advisor Stephen Curry. Cooper and Noah are also bringing shows to YouTube.

Last year, Jimmy Fallon hosted the event, a show that The Verge's Victoria Song described as more like a live taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon than a typical tech launch. With this year's celebrity lineup, Google seems to be once again targeting a more mainstream audience.

The event is airing right at the end of the ET workday: it takes place in New York City and starts at 6 PM ET. The teaser video features brief glimpses of a new phone and smartwatch. Google has previously shown teases of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and there are a bunch of leaked images and specs of the upcoming hardware floating around too.

However, if you're thinking about picking up one of Google's new gadgets, you should be prepared for a higher price tag.
