Wednesday's transfer gossip: Real Madrid eye Van Dijk, Bayern target Olise and Kounde
Spanish and German outlets report Real Madrid are monitoring soon-to-be free agent Virgil van Dijk, while Bayern Munich plan a long-term deal for Michael Olise and interest in Jules Kounde.
Several European outlets published fresh transfer speculation on Wednesday. Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Madrid are considering a move for Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk. The 35-year-old Dutchman will become a free agent at the end of the season once his Liverpool contract expires.
German outlet Bild reports that Bayern Munich are preparing to offer French forward Michael Olise a new contract running until 2032, extending beyond his current deal which expires in 2029. Meanwhile, Bayern have reportedly played down suggestions they were pursuing Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Manchester United, looking to strengthen their attacking options, are said to be interested in Crystal Palace and France striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. United are also reportedly planning to offer new terms to defender Luke Shaw, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Bayern Munich are also said to be eyeing Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, who began the season out of favour at the Catalan club. Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have reportedly expressed interest in Bayern's South Korean defender Kim Min-jae.
Separately, an Italian journalist reports that former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian will begin training with Bologna on Wednesday, following his release from Inter Milan at the end of last season.
