Treffler launches TGA Plus shallow cultivator with wider bar spacing
German manufacturer Treffler has introduced an updated shallow-tillage cultivator, the TGA Plus, in three working widths. The new model has larger spacing between the tool bars so crop residue passes through more easily and clogging is less likely.

Farm machinery maker Treffler has presented an updated shallow-tillage cultivator, the TGA Plus. The German agricultural portal agrarheute reported the new model on 25 October 2026. The machine is designed for very shallow soil cultivation, which means less soil movement and therefore lower diesel consumption.
The TGA Plus is available in working widths of 3.00, 4.70 and 6.10 metres. Like the earlier TGA, it cuts the full surface width from a working depth of 2 cm.
What has changed
The main difference is greater spacing between the bars. The first bar gap has grown by 5 cm to 75 cm, and the second by 15 cm to 85 cm. The leading tine has been moved forward by 10 cm. The gauge wheels are larger (now 225/55 R 12 C), as is the distance to the first bar, and the field layout for folding has been changed. According to the report, the longer design and improved weight distribution across the width should help the machine penetrate hard ground better, and the greater clearance lets it work in organic matter with less risk of clogging.
What stays the same
The pre-tensioned tines, which are free of side draft and move only slightly backward and upward, remain. With a share width of 30 cm and a line spacing of 22 cm, the overlap is 8 cm, so all roots are cut even when turning in curves. This matters for controlling resistant weeds. Pendulum gauge wheels provide precise depth control.
Options
For weed control, a three-row harrow is recommended; it pulls weeds out of the soil and leaves them on the surface to dry. Various rollers are available as packers. For stony soils, a hydraulic overload protection is offered, along with carbide narrow-cut goosefoot shares with a longer service life.
