US President Donald Trump said on Thursday evening that he has called off the previously announced strikes on Iran, citing that the final terms of negotiations with the Islamic Republic have been elevated to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump explained that all involved parties—both in broad terms and in the smallest details—have approved the final points. He listed the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt as countries that participated in the approval.

Trump emphasized that the maritime blockade against Iran will remain in full force and effect until the agreement is finally concluded. The time and place of the signing will be announced shortly.

This is not the first time Trump has hinted that a deal with Iran is close—previous such statements have not materialized. Earlier on Thursday, he had promised a 'very strong strike' on Iran later that night, and on Tuesday he suggested a peace agreement could be reached 'within two or three days'.
