Tele2 Invests €3.7 Million in Upgrading Its Mobile Network Core

Telecom company Tele2 has invested €3.7 million in modernising the core of its mobile network. The upgrade is meant to make the network more stable under heavy load and widen the services available to business clients.

Tele2, a multi-service company that provides mobile communications and other services, has invested €3.7 million in modernising the core of its mobile network. The company says the upgrade will help the network run more reliably even under heavy load, and will allow it to offer business clients new digital and data transmission services.

The network core is the element that manages every call and data session in real time. Līga Krūmiņa, director of Tele2's technical department, likened it to the "heart and brain" of the company's entire infrastructure. She noted that growing data volumes call for more flexible solutions, and that what matters for network performance is not only the capacity of base stations but also that of the other network elements, along with the software's ability to process that capacity quickly and accurately.

What it means for customers

According to Krūmiņa, the modernisation is a strategic step that significantly strengthens the network's basic capacity, operational stability and security. For customers, it should bring more stable data transmission and lower latency.

For businesses, the upgrade opens the way to deploying next-generation technology solutions. This is particularly relevant in areas where equipment depends on fast response times.
