The moment was captured on video and shared on TikTok. Footage shows the woman and her dog watching from safety as the green banks of the stream rapidly become covered in a thick layer of ice.
No warning was given
It was initially assumed the woman had received an emergency alert on her phone in time. However, the video's creator clarified in the comments that this was not the case. She explained that the official weather warning had been issued for 12:00, but the storm actually hit around 10:00. According to her, she had no prior knowledge of the approaching hail and decided to seek shelter based purely on instinct. The situation unfolded within roughly two minutes.
The footage shows that the hail and wind were strong enough that being caught out in the open at that moment could have caused serious injury. Both the woman and her dog escaped the storm unharmed, having found shelter just in time.
