Six-year-old Roj's words touch Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs responded on social network X to a post about what a six-year-old boy named Roj said about him. The boy's mother wrote that after watching the PM's thank-you video, her son said both he and the PM are Latvia.

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs has publicly responded on the social network X to a mother's post about her six-year-old son Roj's reaction to the PM's video. The post appeared on 5 October 2026, shortly after the Saeima (Latvia's parliament) elections, in which, as reported by nra.lv, voters showed Kulbergs an unprecedented level of trust.
What the mother wrote
Roj's mother, who uses the name Renate on X, said it is important for the boy to watch the news every evening. Before falling asleep he asked to see the prime minister, whose title he cannot quite pronounce yet. She played Kulbergs' thank-you video addressed to the nation.
According to her, the boy watched with a puzzled look and then said: "When I meet him, I will tell him that I am Latvia. And he is Latvia. We both are." The mother described the words as a sign of deep thought and of her son's patriotic heart.
The prime minister's reply
Kulbergs noticed the post himself. He wrote that it was very touching and asked what the boy's name was and how old he was. The mother replied that he is Roj, aged six, and wished the prime minister strength and endurance.
The source notes that Kulbergs has repeatedly stressed the importance of family and children during breaks in his work. The exchange on social media is one example of how the prime minister responds to messages from members of the public online.
