A cyberattack on India-based Tata Electronics last week resulted in the theft of more than 630GB of data, which was later posted on the dark web. According to Reuters, the leaked documents allegedly contain detailed information about hundreds of components for the iPhone 18 Pro, including chips on the main circuit board, battery elements, and camera parts.

The breach also affected other major clients such as Tesla and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., but the majority of the leaked information appears to center on Apple. Tata has become one of Apple's most prominent suppliers outside of China in recent years.

Apple has traditionally kept tight-lipped about its supplier relationships, and this exposure could put the company at a disadvantage in future negotiations, especially as it raises prices on many products due to RAM shortages. Apple confirmed to Reuters that it is investigating the incident and working with Tata on long-term security measures.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro, along with the iPhone 18 Pro Max and possibly its first foldable smartphone, this fall.
