The sale of assets of bankrupt dairy company E-Piim Tootmine began on Wednesday, with the company's production units in Paide, Põltsamaa and Järva-Jaani set for public auction in August.

Assets are divided into two main lots: the Paide and Põltsamaa cheese factories with a starting price of €80 million and the dairy processing plant in Järva-Jaani with a starting price of €8 million. The public auction is scheduled to start on August 7. Besides Estonian investors, companies from Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Germany have expressed interest.

Currently, the production units are operating at up to 30 percent of capacity, while the packaging unit in Põltsamaa runs at full capacity. CEO Anti Orav stated that creditors decided to continue business operations during bankruptcy to best preserve the assets. Serving customers remains a priority, and the company has paid dairy farmers and partners on time throughout the process.

Bankruptcy trustee Olev Kuklase noted that operating factories, a strong team, and a continuous milk supply system create optimal conditions for a new owner to quickly utilize the assets. E-Piim Tootmine's new cheese factory in Paide can process up to 1,200 metric tons of raw milk per day. In 2025, the company exported more than 90 percent of its output. The company currently employs 180 people.
