Saeima Eliminates Risk of NGOs Losing Public Benefit Status for Donating to Ukraine
The Saeima adopted urgent amendments to allow non-governmental organizations to donate to Ukraine without losing their public benefit status.

On Thursday, June 11, the Saeima passed urgent amendments to the Law on Support to Ukrainian Civilians. The aim is to eliminate the risk that NGOs might lose their public benefit status due to donations to Ukraine.
Previously, existing regulations posed a threat that such donations could negatively affect an organization's status. The adopted amendments remove this risk, allowing NGOs to continue supporting Ukrainian civilians without fear of losing their public benefit status.
The amendments were processed urgently to provide a quick solution and ensure uninterrupted support to Ukraine.
