Romania again declared an air raid alert on the night of Saturday, July 11, in connection with Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities along the Danube River, located close to the Romanian border.

According to the country's Defense Ministry, at 4:39 a.m. the radar surveillance system detected aerial targets near the Ukrainian settlements of Kiliia and Izmail in the Odesa region. Romania's air defense forces were put on combat alert, and a combat helicopter was prepared for takeoff. The alert was canceled about half an hour later.

Later, acting Defense Minister Radu Miruță stated that five sea drones had been detected and neutralized in the Black Sea over a certain period. According to him, some of the detected drones contained explosives. Four of these incidents occurred before a drone explosion in the port of Constanța, and one afterward.

Recall that on the night of May 29, a Russian UAV fell on the roof of a high-rise building in the Romanian border city of Galați (190 km from Constanța), injuring a 14-year-old teenager and a 53-year-old woman, and causing a fire in a 10th-floor apartment. This was the first drone strike on a residential building outside Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale war.
