In the Rucava parish of South Kurzeme municipality, this year's edition of the 'Summer School of Ringing Bells' (Zvanītāju vasaras skoliņa) concludes on Saturday, marking the 24th consecutive year the camp has brought together local residents.

Over more than a week, participants have learned various crafts and skills while spending time together, helping to preserve local traditions and strengthen community ties.

Record interest

This year around 70 residents of Rucava took part, spanning different ages and generations — a notably high number given the event has now run for nearly four decades.

Closing event

The school's conclusion on Saturday will include an exhibition of participants' work, along with a concert featuring musicians, dancers and singers.
