Latvian rallycross driver Roberts Vītols and Swedish team "Team Färén" are heading to Canada to compete in the final round of the "RallyX Americas" season, the "Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières" event on August 22-23. This will be Vītols' first appearance in North America and also his first time racing a 550-horsepower FC2 Supercar class car.

The Canadian round follows a successful European "RallyX" season for Vītols in the Supercar Lites class, where he took seven wins in eight rounds and secured the RallyX South title. That result also secured his main season goal — a fully funded FC2 class entry at the RallyX Global Final in Portugal, scheduled for October 24-25.

Vītols' career has been built with the support of his family-run Provento Racing Team, which helped him progress from karting and national championships to international rallycross. He holds Super 1600 class championship titles from Britain, Northern Europe and Latvia, has won in the Supercar category of the British rallycross championship, and has experience in the FIA RX2e series. After a brief break, he returned to rallycross in 2025 in partnership with Team Färén.

The Trois-Rivières event will give Vītols his first competitive experience with FC2 machinery, allowing him to measure himself against drivers already familiar with the car before returning to the class for the autumn final in Portugal. He noted that he drove some laps in Team Färén's FC2 car in Denmark last year and came away with a positive first impression, though the Canadian track itself will be completely new to him. Vītols thanked representatives of RallyX and Team Färén, as well as his family and Provento Racing Team, for their support.

Team principals — Vītols' father Uģis Vītols and Team Färén boss Erik Fahrén — also expressed satisfaction about the upcoming debut and highlighted the driver's growth throughout the season.
