Water temperature has reached at least +20 degrees Celsius in all of Riga's swimming spots except the seaside, according to data compiled by the Riga Municipal Police.

According to information gathered by the Riga Municipal Police, water temperatures at all of the capital's swimming spots have risen to at least +20 degrees Celsius. The seaside remains the exception, where the water is still cooler than at inland bathing sites.
Such temperatures are generally considered suitable for swimming, meaning residents and visitors can make use of the warm summer days to relax by the water. The Municipal Police regularly monitor water temperatures at various swimming locations across Riga to keep the public informed.
Sea water typically warms more slowly than inland bodies of water, so the temperature gap between the coast and other swimming spots at this time of year is not unusual.
