Riga IFF film festival guide: picks for three types of viewers
The Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF) runs for ten days in Riga, Cēsis, Sigulda and Daugavpils, with about a hundred films on the programme. LSM has put together a selection for three types of viewers.

October in Latvian cinema is dominated by the Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF). For ten days, the latest films will be shown in Riga, as well as in Cēsis, Sigulda and Daugavpils.
The festival programme is extensive: it includes about a hundred films, so it can be hard to find your way around. To help audiences choose, LSM, Latvia's public media outlet, has prepared a guide with a selection of films.
Three types of viewers
The selection is built around three kinds of viewers:
- the introspective thinker;
- the current-affairs analyst;
- the gem hunter.
The guide offers a separate set of films for each type, so festivalgoers can more easily find what suits them best.
