Local residents have expressed concern over the oak trees growing near Augusta Deglava Street, which lie within a renovation zone. They worry that excavation work may have harmed the trees' roots, jeopardizing their future growth and development.

According to Ieva Grīsle, project coordinator for external communication at the Riga City Council, as told to Latvian Television's program "4. studija", no harm should come to the trees after the application of new fertile black soil. She explained that soil renewal is part of the renovation process, which will provide favorable conditions for the oaks.

Nevertheless, residents remain cautious, emphasizing the importance of these trees in the city's green infrastructure and calling for closer monitoring of construction impacts on plantings. No detailed assessment of the trees' condition has been reported so far.
