TTT Riga women's basketball team beats Rokiskis by 50 in Baltic league

Riga basketball club TTT Riga won 102-52 at home against Rokiskis 1499 on Sunday in the Baltic Women's Basketball League (WBBL). The quarter scores were 18-16, 35-9, 26-15 and 23-12. It was the Riga team's first win of the new season after three games played.

How the game went

Robina Benton was the top scorer for the hosts with 21 points. Ieva Pulvere added 18 points, while Enija Viksne finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. For the visitors, Tanija Marks stood out with 21 points and eight rebounds.

The second quarter was the biggest gap in the game, with the hosts winning it 35-9.

About the tournament

In WBBL Division A, the Latvian teams are Liepaja/LSSS, Riga Stradins University, TTT Riga and TTT Juniores. Division B features Daugavpils University, TTT Kadetes and RSU-2; those teams will begin their season on Saturday.

In both divisions, teams play a double round-robin, after which playoffs will determine the four teams for the final four.

After the WBBL season, the Latvian teams will begin the Latvian Women's Basketball League (LSBL) tournament, where playoffs will decide the champions. Last season TTT Riga lost the LSBL final 79-94 to Kibirkstis of Vilnius, who won for the second season in a row.
