20-Bay Electric Car Charging Hub Opens at Domina Shopping Centre in Riga
Ignitis ON, an electric vehicle charging network operator in Latvia and the Baltics, opened a high-power charging hub at the Domina Shopping mall in Riga on 15 October. It can charge 20 cars at the same time.

Electric vehicle charging network operator Ignitis ON opened a new high-power charging hub at the Domina Shopping mall in Riga on 15 October. Twenty electric cars can charge there at once, making it one of the largest such hubs in the Latvian capital. It expands the company's charging infrastructure in the east of Riga.
Capacity and layout
Each charging bay connector delivers up to 320 kW, and the hub's total capacity is 1.6 MW. Ten bays are in the mall's A1 car park and another ten in the C1 car park, each group with a combined capacity of 800 kW. The hub is near the Purvciems, Pļavnieki, Teika and other neighbourhoods in eastern Riga.
Charging points can be checked, reserved and paid for in the Ignitis ON mobile app. The app also shows availability in real time and offers smart charging.
Comments from the companies
Māris Sīklis, head of e-mobility at Ignitis ON, says electric cars are becoming an everyday transport choice, so people's expectations of charging are changing too. He says the company wants charging to be as natural as any other everyday service, and that large shopping centres matter in this because they are part of people's usual routes.
Dina Bunce, director of the Domina Shopping mall, says visitors can shop, eat or enjoy entertainment with their families while their cars charge.
Network scale
More than 600 Ignitis ON charging points are available in Latvia, in Riga and in the regions. The company's network covers over 90% of the Baltic territory. Its growth follows a "30-kilometre rule", meaning a 30 km range radius around each station.
