Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) and an online platform are hosting the international conference "Learning to Care: Education and Training in Culture and Health" on 15 and 16 October. LSM Kultūra is offering a live broadcast. The event focuses on how to prepare specialists for work where culture and health meet.

What will be discussed

Participants will talk about the knowledge, skills and learning opportunities that would let professionals in culture, health, social care and other fields cooperate more effectively. Cooperation between these fields is the central theme of the event.

Beyond universities

The organisers said the topic covers more than formal university education. Learning can also take place in cultural institutions, at festivals and in communities, under the guidance of mentors, and through practical exchange of experience. The conference provides a setting to discuss how such opportunities can help specialists from different sectors understand one another better and work together.
